This past summer I was given the chance to read a literature-themed essay at Parnassus Books in Nashville (pictured above). To make it even better, Ann Patchett (who owns the store) showed up to the reading. It was one of the most thrilling readings I’ve ever done.
The essay was about how I came to Nashville to be a country music star, only to end up an English major wanting to write humor. It also explains my nickname “Chainsaw,” and how I ended up getting a Mark Twain tattoo on my chest. Last week, it was published on The Good Men Project.
